Why Tracks of Old Safaris.

Tracks of Old Safaris is a citizen-owned safari company located in the rich and diverse delta of Botswana. The Founder and Director, Moagi Robson, a self-proclaimed Bushman who speaks 4 languages, from Manxotae, was raised in the Nata Village brings over 20 years in the field of tracking and guiding in South Africa, with a specific emphasis in the Okavango Delta-the only place in the world where you can take a mokoro ride, and Moremi Game Reserves.

Robson has a natural knack and instinct for sensing the trails and tracks of wildlife and targeting their courses which will ultimately result in a full and rich safari experience. He has a seemingly endless knowledge of landscape and wildlife game, which in turn, insures more sightings and an immensely rich experience. He has made his office seated at the front of an open safari vehicle and his desk in the plains of the delta amidst the den of lions, the wilderness of the bush and amongst the giants of herds of elephants.

His intimate mastery of recognizing the paw and hoof prints of giraffes, leopard and rhinos, identifying flora and fauna and pointing out animal spoor and skat, makes Tracks of Old Safaris the perfect choice in discovering Botswana and all it has to offer.

What is a mobile safari?

A Mobile Safari is an aged and old-fashioned practiced system, following a specific formula to bring everything with you, yet leaving nothing. Essentially, a select group of 4 to 15 clients can be hosted in various destinations for up to 3 to 12 days and nights. Depending on the interests of the clients, an organized journey and campsite is then planned out on specific routes so that clients have the opportunity to be fully immersed in the splendor of nature, with the intention of enjoying and exploring free roaming wildlife, in their natural dwellings and surroundings. And hopefully to get a glimpse of the Big Five: Buffalo, elephant, leopard, lions, rhinoceros.

Guests will be experiencing an unspoiled true wilderness in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, fitted with a refrigerator inside the vehicle, so that they can enjoy liquid refreshment during game drives, such as, water, soft drinks and any other beverages of choice, as available. The safari will be entirely guided by knowledgeable, experienced and well informed, local professional guides. Aircraft will, oftentimes be arranged between various locations, when deemed necessary.

A mobile safari team will provide transportation such as a large truck or other 4x4 vehicle to traverse from one breathtaking destination to the next. In the meantime, a campsite is then set up by safari staff, while guests are out on a caravan exploring the wonders of wildlife and all that a mobile safari has to offer. Depending on the number of guests and availability and preferences, private canvas tents will be set up in each destination according to the predetermined itinerary. Standard or luxury camping will be comprised of proper fitted beds, an ensuite bathroom which include short drop toilets and bucket showers complete with hot and cold water.
